The code is written to protect the venue staff, members, guests, volunteers, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, caterers, and videographers, and any other people involved with or attending the GDevCon ANZ Inc event, from any hostile behaviour. It is an expectation that all people involved, whether working or attending, will abide by this code of conduct, to ensure a peaceful and safe conference for all.
GDevCon ANZ values equality, empathy, respect, privacy, fairness and kindness. We aim to create a supportive, non-judgemental, unbiased, peaceful environment. Every person who attends, whether working or attending, should be able to attend free of physical and verbal harassment and bullying.
The following standards are expected of all attendees:
– Be respectful to all people involved at the conference
– Be appropriately dressed for the event
– Follow all rules as laid out by GDevCon ANZ Inc and the venue
– Report any unsafe situation to a GDevCon ANZ Inc member or venue staff immediately
– Respect other’s privacy
The following inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated:
– Physical or verbal harassment
– Bullying
– Cyberbullying
– Defamatory comments, including about race, colour, sexual orientation
– Disorderly conduct caused by inebriation
– Unsafe actions that could cause injury
– Continual noisy activity that interferes with presentations
– Disobeying any laws/policies of the venue
– Breaking any law
– Capture any video recordings of the event, without first seeking permission from a GDevCon ANZ Inc member.
If you are the recipient of, or bear witness to, any of the inappropriate behaviour listed above, we ask that you report this to a GDevCon ANZ Inc member, verbally or via email, as soon as possible. The report will be treated with confidentiality.
If GDevCon ANZ Inc receives reports that a conference participant has failed to abide by this code of conduct, then the association may take whatever actions it deems appropriate, including, for example, expulsion from the conference without refund, notification of participant’s employer, and disqualification from attending future events.
